Join a global telecommunications firm based in Nigeria, Africa on a contract basis.

As Cloud Infrastructure Consultant, you will primarily manage:

  • Serve as Technical Authority for Support Activities, Incident Management, Preventive maintenance and Performance management
  • Assist with Problem Management and support in project activities
  • On a regular basis covering the 24×7 Call-out responsibility
  • Support the Back Office team from reception until closure of the Trouble Tickets and
  • Service Requests from customer and assure the time restoration within SLA.
  • Participate in the creation / updating of the procedures and the Technical Instructions in order to be in line with the technical standards in place. Provide support in improving technical procedures.
  • Coordination and training of new team members when nominated to perform this activity by the direct manager.
  • Experiences and continuous self-improvement in Telecommunication and related activities within the Network.
  • Generate scripts or any other program required in daily activities. Implement, maintain and operate cloud native infrastructure.
  • Deploy, maintain and operate cloud-native applications in Kubernetes cluster. Perform development support, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and housekeeping for high availability Provide feedback and suggestions to improving all operational aspects, related to the Cloud infrastructure which could contribute into growing the quality of the
  • Cloud Services – end to end.
  • Assess need for any system monitoring, reconfigurations (minor or significant), make recommendations, and implement them as required.
  • Coordinate with Customer Relations/Back office/Project Management teams
  • Interact with the other Service areas (Planning, Application, IPMPLS and RF teams) for continuous maintenance and monitoring of the Cloud Infrastructure as vita

The day-to-day for the Cloud infrastructure Consultant

  • Implement, maintain and operate CI/CD pipeline for cloud infrastructure (on-prem and public cloud)
  • Implement, maintain and operate cloud native infrastructure based on Kubernetes.
  • Perform continuous analysis and requirement handling for scalable solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting on all data center regions of cloud infrastructure, identify issues, and assist in timely resolution of same.
  • Responsible for incidence analysis and diagnosis
  • Perform root cause analysis for all critical incidence on the network.
  • Provide support for change management, including change risk and impact analysis.
  • Support testing of new services and supervise project activities including node acceptance.
  • Responsible for improvement of existing O&M processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate and Perform periodic resilience and redundancy testing.
  • Passion for new technologies and readiness to learn new things
  • Provide support for multi-vendor cloud infrastructure environment

 

Skills required for Cloud infrastructure Engineer

  • Degree in Engineering preferably in Electronics, Computer science, Telecommunication or equivalent#
  • Good level of English, other languages are a plus
  • Good understanding of PS and EPC architectures (2G/3G/4G/5G);
  • UNIX operating system commands Proficiency in Ericsson NFVI products – HDS, SDI, SDN, CEE, and ECCD
  • Good working Knowledge of Hyperscale Cloud Hardware Platforms
  • Good Working knowledge of Cloud Storage Products
  • Good understanding of the CS Core network (MSC, MGW, HLR, HSS, STP, SBC)
  • Good understanding of IMS Core network (CSCF, SBC, AS, DNS, ENUM, VO LTE, VO WIFI)
  • Good understanding of the UDC system.
  • Experience in Cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes/Docker, VMWare)
  • Experience in any of the public cloud platforms namely AWS/GCP/Azure.
  • Experience in operating system scripting/commands, code quality analysis, back-up and monitoring tools.
  • SS7 protocol stack and troubleshooting
  • Solid knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of GGSN/SGSN-MME/DNS;
  • Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of AAA/PCRF/DSC/DRA;
  • Good understanding of following protocols: GTP, DIAMETER, DNS, RADIUS-AAA, DHCP, SS7, NTP
  • Understanding of IP routing protocols and MPLS will be an advantage;
  • Ability to trace and localize fault in the Core network.
  • Familiar with IP Network Technologies (Switches, Routers, Load Balancers)
