Our client is a multinational networking and telecommunications company operating in over 180 countries. With a history spanning over a century, they are a leading provider of communication technology and services worldwide.

Our client’s primary focus lies in developing and delivering cutting-edge solutions for mobile and fixed networks, enabling communication service providers to offer advanced voice, data, and video services to their customers.

Their product portfolio includes hardware, software, and services tailored to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape. These offerings encompass a wide range of technologies such as 5G, IoT (Internet of Things), cloud infrastructure, and network automation.

OBJECTIVES

Our client had been awarded a significant contract for deploying 3G services in Papua New Guinea, aimed at enhancing mobile connectivity and digital access nationwide.

Facing a shortage of local personnel they required a recruitment partner capable of sourcing and supplying external contract experts with extensive experience in deploying the latest 3G technology.

Additionally, our client required a recruitment partner capable of managing all in-country arrangements, including local payroll management and securing work permits, ensuring strict adherence to local employment regulations.

SOLUTION

We engaged in a thorough consultation and RFI process, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to grasp the project's needs and scope. This involved hiring forecasts, required skill sets, budgetary constraints, and delivery timelines, in addition this involved travelling to PNG to meet clients and teams in-person.

Lastly, via our trusted payroll partner we created a tailored, competitive in-country payroll and work permit solution, ensuring full compliance as per local laws

OUTCOME

As a direct outcome of TSSI's efforts, we successfully facilitated the recruitment of 52 highly skilled contract hires, all possessing prior 3G rollout experience, enabling them to seamlessly integrate and contribute to the project's success and targets.

In addition, In order to mitigate local expenses, we procured a range of equipment, such as harnesses, climbing gear, HSE equipment, tents, sleeping gear, and safety helmets, from suppliers in Asia. These items were then shipped to Papua New Guinea, resulting in substantial cost savings for our client.

I've worked with Phil a few times when I've required staff. The biggest (and most complex from a logistical view point), was the requirement for Engineers to work in Papua New Guinea on a Hybrid Solar installation across the Country and Islands. Phil was given the brief with skills and personalities required, he carried out pre-screening on our behalf and provided me with multiple, suitable resources. In the last year, Phil has helped me source personnel to carry out Preventative Maintenance and Support on Mission Critical Infrastructure on multiple sites across Europe. He again carried out the screening in-line with the requirement brief and provided me quality personnel to interview. I would have no hesitate in recommending Phil to anyone who has the need for professional recruitment services.
